Job Summary:
Functions as a skilled technician who is able to perform diagnoses and repairs on customer and dealership vehicles and who focuses on fixing it right the first time.

Responsibilities:
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Diagnoses cause of any malfunction and performs repair.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Saves and tags parts of the job if under warranty or if requested by the customer.
- Examines assigned vehicle to determine if further safety or service work is required or recommended.
- Communicates with service advisor immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time.
- Documents all work performed and recommended on the repair order.
- Road tests vehicles when required or refers to the test technician.
- Participates in and completes manufacturer-sponsored training programs, schools, and events.
- Keeps up on manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean and notifies service advisor immediately of any changes.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals.
- Understands and complies with federal, state, and local regulations.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Must possess and maintain required hand tools.
- Maintain training in accordance with required skill levels.
- Uphold and comply with Customer Care Standards (or current customer related program).
- Comply with manufacturer’s policies and procedures on repairs.
- Maintain a neat and clean work area.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.
Certificate / License Requirements:
- State Inspection License and State Emission Certification
- Master Certification a plus
- Valid Driver's License
- Manufacturer’s certifications to work on the vehicles a plus
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs to shoulder height.
- Must be able to successfully handle all tools required to perform duties above.
- Must be able to bend down to see under or inside vehicles.
- Must be able to twist and turn as needed to work in, on or about the vehicles.
