POSITION SUMMARY

At Brown Family Law, each attorney is responsible for working collaboratively as a team to provide exceptional service while being fully accountable for their caseload and maximizing the well-being of our clients. This involves sharing information and legal knowledge among ourselves and coordinating with paralegals to keep clients informed and guide them through legal processes successfully.

The person in this role will be committed to meeting all hours and revenue requirements, completing legal work promptly and to a high standard, and ensuring our clients feel supported, heard, and well-informed throughout the entire process.

OBJECTIVES

  • Serve clients exceptionally well through systematic, empathic communication, excellent and on-time written legal work, and in-court oral advocacy
  • Meet billable hours and revenue requirements by billing in real-time for all work completed
  • Coordinate with the office manager and their team leader to ensure 100% collection for work billed
  • Be 100% responsible for all aspects of their caseload, from the beginning of their cases through trial and doing so in a timely manner
  • Daily collaboration and planning of key case objectives with paralegals
  • Create initial case plan to identify and obtain a client’s primary goals
  • Create an effective negotiation strategy to accomplish client’s primary goals, and then execute on that strategy during mediation
  • Share knowledge freely with their fellow attorney team members, as well as other firm members, so everyone can learn and improve as quickly as possible
  • Attend Friday team meetings and call every client every Friday
  • Learn how to sell and close clients so we can serve clients and their families
  • Block distractions in order to identify, prioritize, and complete most important case tasks
  • Search for opportunities to improve the lives of their internal and external colleagues
  • Manage recruitment of the office, ensuring a strong culture is established
  • Consult with potential clients taking ownership of the sales and closing strategies as well as managing client conflict resolution
  • Maintaining office supplies, cash handling, in addition to updating and maintaining internal process development
  • Track and maintain the hourly reporting process in relation to billable hours
  • Provide leadership, training and development to team members, managing any internal corrective actions and conflict resolution
  • Strategize with other attorneys regarding difficult or complex cases; maintaining relationships with local subject matter experts and continued education within the industry
  • Take responsibility for overall revenue growth of the Arizona office

  • Comfortable in high-stakes negotiation and mediation
  • Ability to manage negative emotions from clients in a professional manner
  • Lifting up those around them through great interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with Apple technology, Microsoft Office Suite, Slack, Google Suite, Clio, and Zoom

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Active Arizona Bar License with no bar disciplinary actions
  • At least 3 years experience in the following: (1) in-court litigation, including proffer hearings, evidentiary hearings, and trials; (2) mediation; (3) family law

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and talking on the phone
  • Travel to and from court and mediations, frequently and multiple times per week
  • Potential for travel throughout the state of Arizona (most travel may be limited to Maricopa County and Pinal County)
