Job Description: Security Position
Summary:
In the Security position, you are responsible for enforcing company security procedures to ensure that company property, buildings, machinery, and products remain safe and secure. Working out of our Louisa, KY facility, you will be an essential part of our team that has been servicing customers and delivering fine foods since 1942.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform regular and detailed security checks.
- Monitor, oversee and demonstrate proficiency in the use of surveillance cameras, access control systems and alarm panels.
- Computer proficiency (minimum Microsoft Office) required.
- Maintain and manage security duty logs, events of the day and incident report process in a thorough and timely manner.
- Respond to and report all issues or concerns pertaining to security/safety immediately to other departments as needed.
- Investigate incidents to determine/recommend problem solutions.
- Escort employees, staff and visitors as required.
- All other duties as assigned
- Ability to work extended hours in alternating shifts, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime
- Strong problem-solving skills with an ability to innovate and improvise security solutions
Education, Experience and Knowledge:
- High School Degree (G.E.D.) or equivalent work experience
- Computer skills including the ability to use a keyboard, mouse, tablet, and scanner.
- Highly effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal)
- Leadership skills balanced with the ability to be a team player
- Strong organization skills (i.e., proactive, detail oriented) and ability to excel under pressure
- Initiative with the ability to accept a high degree of responsibility and act with a sense of urgency and accountability
- Ability to work extended hours in alternating shifts, weekends, holidays and occasional overtime
- Ability to work quickly in a calm manner, being efficient, accurate and safe.
- Ability to read and write English and perform basic math skills.
- Ability to conform to company attendance policies and report to work on time as scheduled.
- Formal Training including GDP’s including personnel practices, storage practices, sanitation, receiving, distribution, and HACCP training.
Physical Demands
- Ability to do heavy lifting daily. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work standing for long periods of time.
- Must be able to work in various work environments including but not limited to heights, confined spaces and outdoors.
