POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
The President of Liquor Stores US North (“LSUN”) reports directly to the President of Afognak Commercial Group, LLC (“ACG”). This senior executive position is located at Afognak Native Corporation’s corporate office in Anchorage, AK. The President shall devote their entire productive time, ability and attention to LSUN retail business operations within ACG. The President executes LSUN’s strategic plan and achieve its strategic vision by providing leadership, day-to-day operations of the business, and oversight of critical resources including but not limited to implementing effective operational controls, administrative and reporting procedures, and management of human capital. This position requires a seasoned executive with a progressive record of success and increasing responsibilities centered in LSUN business operations.
Primary/Major Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions):
Business Operations and Revenue Generation
Collaborate with President of ACG in setting and driving organizational vision, operations strategy, and hiring levels.
Develop actionable business strategies, objectives, and plans that ensure alignment with short- and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the President of ACG.
Oversee the LSUN day-to-day operations and employee productivity, building a highly inclusive culture that ensures team members can thrive and that organizational goals are met.
Measure and analyze current revenue streams, offerings, and relationships to optimize business growth and revenue strategy.
Develop and implement sustainable growth strategies, annual operating plans, and procedures.
Responsible for driving LSUN to achieve and improve sales, costs, profits, cash flow, inventory and business goals and objectives.
Identification and participation in corporate expansion activities including investments, acquisitions, corporate alliances, etc.
Business Support Operations
Constantly evaluate and oversee daily operations, making adjustments as necessary.
Ensure compliance with national and local business regulations and take appropriate action when necessary.
Build and maintain trusting relationships with key customers, clients, partners, and stakeholders.
Work collaboratively to develop and/or improve systems, processes, controls and procedures that improve the overall efficiency of LSUN and ensure excellent client service.
Measure effectiveness and efficiency of operational processes both internally and externally and find ways to improve processes.
Implement financial procedures and organizational policies and programs to drive the company’s operating capabilities to surpass the industry average.
Build and maintain relationships with other professionals and organizations in the industry.
Retail Operations
Implement best practices to enhance the customer shopping experience and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Monitor and analyze sales data, inventory levels, and other key performance indicators to identify areas for improvement.
Work closely with store managers to optimize product placement, pricing strategies, and promotional activities.
Able to entertain clients and vendors during business and after normal business hours.
Staff and Team Development
Recruit, lead, motivate, mentor and coach the LSUN management team to develop a high performing staff.
Motivate staff to meet or surpass performance and sales goals.
Promote communication between colleagues for the benefit of information flow.
Strategically manage, organize, and coordinate employees from different departments and locations to ensure efficiency.
Dissemination of corporate wide policies.
All other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Required Qualifications and Experience:
Must reside in Anchorage, Alaska
Experience managing a retail store chain of 20 stores with annual revenues exceeding $100 million”
High school diploma or equivalent, however a master’s degree in business from accredited institution of higher learning is preferred
Ten (10) or more years of proven experience in executive leadership roles
Strong understanding of the regulatory environment related to the selling of alcohol
Excellent organizational, administrative and leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
Strong decision-making, critical thinking, and multi-tasking abilities
Excellent business and budget planning skills
Excellent analytical and planning skills with an understanding of data analysis and performance/operation metrics
Strong organization and time management skills
Ability to work as an independent contributor and as part of a team
Extensive experience and excellent reputation in retail business market
