Primary Purpose: We are excited to add another member to our Next Generation Team! Our Next Generation Department has been established in prayer to cultivate an intentional ministry pipeline from “Baby Diapers to bachelor’s degrees”. Our Youth Pastor/Director will join the collective in hopes to develop a very instrumental segment of this demographic. We desire a Youth Pastor that will provide oversight and direction to middle and high school students (6th grade to 12th grade) within Brown Missionary Baptist Church. Our Youth Pastor/Director should be able to effectively reach, encourage and disciple students in their faith, while exploring ways in which they can begin to make a lasting impact throughout our neighboring schools, churches, communities, and friendship circles for the cause of Christ. This position will seek to integrate youth ministry into all phases of church life!
General Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to the following):
Responsible for developing messages and series content for all student ministry gatherings.
Responsible for providing oversight and leadership to all student ministry volunteers, ensuring each receive and are held accountable to their quarterly goals and objectives, and to provide the care and resources they need to be effective.
To coordinate with the Next Generation Pastor to regularly evaluate and assess the effectiveness of their student environments, programming, and volunteers.
Create and host annual student gatherings/camps (example: Children & Student Weekend & PULSE Student Retreat), designed to provide intimate discipleship opportunities for students to grow in their faith.
To develop and provide oversight to all spiritual programming and initiatives designed to reach and impact students (Example: Mid-Week Small Groups)
To assist Next Gen Team with any spiritual counseling or support that student and/or parents of students need in times of loss, grief, or crisis.

Overseeing, growing, and coordinating the church's Student Ministry
Leading middle and high school students to encourage their spiritual growth
Lead Bible studies, social gatherings, and other activities, including weekly student group meetings
Coordinate participation of students in the Sunday worship services
Develop and grow volunteer leadership team through recruitment, training, and discipleship in collaboration with Next Generation Pastor
Facilitate and encourage young adult engagement in the life of our students through their opportunity to serve.
Attending and participating in staff meetings.
Designing, overseeing, and examining curriculums for all programs, events, and classes.
Interacting with students during Sunday services.
Developing positive relationships with students and their parents.
Sharing program plans through social media.
Displaying a Christ-like approach and lifestyle and praying regularly for young people in the church and community.
Incorporating youth into various church ministries for His use.
Growing students who are interested in the knowledge of God and His Word.
Position Must Haves
2 years of leadership experience or equivalent life experience
Passion for students and families
High-level networking/relational strengths with an ability to execute
Ability to make sound, critical decisions under pressure
A team player with excellent communication skills
Analytical thinking and problem-solving capability
Great attention to detail and time-management skill
An immeasurable passion to reach middle and high school students with The Gospel of Jesus Christ
Associate and/or bachelor’s degree
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Ability to consistently embody and champion the values of Brown Missionary Baptist Church
Administrative
Maintain a well-planned, carefully balanced program throughout the year coordinated with the church calendar of events.
Assist in being a “Vision Carrier,” managing and evaluating the philosophy of student ministry.
Assign ministry goals and periodically evaluate against those goals, measuring enabling processes and outcomes.
Ensure responsibilities for all events are delegated and understood by Student Leaders.
Pre-schedule all activities in their entirety, including post-activity plans. Publish the same to staff, parents, and students in a timely fashion.
Develop strategies to encourage church and community wide participation in Student Ministry and Activities.
Ensure monthly interaction with the Next Generation Leadership Team for mutual accountability.
Promote the vision of the church with regard to missions with students.
Accountability Factors
