What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Analyst position at BRP?
JOB SUMMARY:
As the Financial Analyst you will play a central role in the financial support of the manufacturing operations of the St. Peter manufacturing site. Your role will be to develop an expertise in the different systems and processes, so you are able to research and analyze information to help make well informed decisions, write reports and monitor financial performance. Alumacraft has been a recognized employer in St Peter, building fishing boats for over 75 years!
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the budget and forecast exercises through variance analysis
- Play an active role in the monthly financial reporting activities by preparing, analyzing and summarizing results
- Participate in the monthly and quarterly closing processes
- Develop an expertise of the ERP and financial system (Distribution Plus) by understanding its functionality, its interconnection with the manufacturing operations, and developing a solid understanding of the data
- Track costs and profitability and contribute to finding ways to improve them
- Proactively identify financial risks and opportunities in your scope of responsibilities and recommend actions to take
- Be responsible for overall information integrity in your scope of responsibility and support audit and tax conformity requests
- Assist in Internal Control for GAAP and business activities
- Participate and influence various “ad hoc” projects ensuring their contribution to the Marine Group’s financial objectives
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Finance or Accounting
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience, with expertise in manufacturing and operations support required
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and effectively manage priorities
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, rigor
- Ability to communicate effectively, gain trust of partners
- Self-sufficiency and initiative to quickly identify your business partner’s needs
- Intermediate knowledge of Excel and its modeling best practices
