The life science writer will create, edit, and update scientific material across a range of media types and disciplines. The successful candidate will have a background in both science and writing with an ability to communicate complex concepts to a variety of audiences and knowledge levels.

This position requires proficiency in: script writing, long-form writing, marketing writing, scientific writing, SEO web writing, and technical writing.
Responsibilities:
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Create written print and digital collateral for life science topics related to products, applications, and cutting-edge research trends
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams, including product managers, applications scientists, sales and customers to develop successful customer-facing content
- Responsible for establishing, tracking and reporting on success metrics for collateral
- Generate compelling content for all stages of the sales funnel (exposure, consideration, decision-making, and advocacy)
- Work closely with web editor to continuously improve and maintain SEO position and engaged traffic to the BNSM websites
- Identify and prioritize opportunities for successful content (type, target, audience, subject matter) to grow our effective life science portfolio
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will have:
- BS degree in Biology or discipline of biology, MS preferred
- Minimum three years of experience in the life sciences writing/editing required
- Experience in communications, marketing or public relations is strongly desired
- Demonstrated experience in writing, editing, and communicating scientific and technical concepts for both highly scientific and novice audiences required
- Experience with conducting interviews, script writing, and writing SEO-driven web content is strongly desired
- Self-starter, ability to efficiently move projects from beginning to end
- Demonstrated ability to execute on multiple projects in concurrence
- Comfortable as both a team player and individual contributor, with extensive review loops and stakeholders
