BASIC ACCOUNTABILITY STATEMENT This individual will report to the Senior Buyer and manage a primary commodity set of electrical to include harnesses, fittings, panels and wire in addition to other assigned items. Key responsibilities will include supporting the operations team through material requirements planning processes to include parts ordering, inventory optimization, and development of multi-level plans to ensure continuous flow of materials to production. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan for and execute material management strategies for commodity set to include: Manage inventory to appropriate levels as determined by MRP system Plan material requirements to have parts on hand to avoid shortages Hold suppliers accountable to on time deliveries and provide regular feedback on performance Plan for and develop backup plans for critical parts in the commodity set Monthly forecasting presented at the start of each month Analyze data to identify problematic areas and suggest improvements Oversee and improve inventory management procedures Identify issues with long lead time parts/ suppliers and offer solutions/ improvements Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS AND KEY ATTRIBUTES BA/BS in supply chain, logistics, business or related field preferred Experience as Buyer preferred Excellent negotiating skills Ability to think outside the box to develop rapid solutions to assist operations team Proactive attitude with good organizational skills and ability to drive resolutions in a short time frame Strong working knowledge of MS Office, relational databases and ERP systems Analytical, detail oriented, and able to analyze and improve processes Excellent communication skills (with staff, peers and upper management) and ability to develop rapport with other functional leaders and supply chain leadership team to influence decision making Embraces change, challenges the status quo and makes recommendations for improvements to processes Able to manage multiple projects and prioritize appropriately We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job.
