EXPERIENCE:
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- One Year of related experience in animal care
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Basic computer skills, ability to work well with others
- Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others
Other Requirements:
- Must be able to work around animals and dust
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA)
- Two Years Experience in animal handling and animal care
Preferred Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:
- Certified Veterinary Assistant (CVA)
Must possess a stable work history.

Responsibilities:
- Under the supervision of a Vet Tech or higher, provides restraint for medical procedures, feeds and walks patients per clinician’s orders, obtains and stocks supplies from store room and pharmacy
- Observes and reports behavior problems or conditions that develop with animals while under our care to appropriate medical staff, proficient in use with computers and comfortable with the client software
- Assists with medical procedures, performs basic blood sample analysis, assists with transporting patients to CT, radiology, or ultrasound, provides proper restraint, provides basic TPRs and assists with treatments under the supervision of a veterinary technician
- Maintains a sanitary and well organized service within the clinic
- Sanitizes and disinfects animal housing areas within ICU, Feline ICU, quiet room, and isolation suites
- Maintains a functional, organized, and safe work environment at all times
- Disinfects exam tables, equipment, and animal cages
- Replenishes clean laundry
- Restocks the services with expendable supplies, drugs, solutions
- Cleans floors, sinks, countertops, and outside exercise yard
- Requires participating in Holiday coverage, as needed
- Performs other duties as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $11.00 - $13.00 per hour
