What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUMMER CAMP COUNSELOR (TIMBER TRAIL) position at Bryan County?
This position is to be responsible for leading children in the Camp programs and reports to the Camp Site Supervisor. Camp Counselors are role models for camp participants. The ideal candidate exemplifies integrity, commitment, respect, responsibility and cooperation.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Must demonstrate ability to perform all job duties and be physically active.
Supervises participants and ensures their safety.
Applies disciplinary actions in accordance with program guidelines.
Organizes and distributes equipment and material needed for the operation of the program.
Notes and completes incident, accident, and participant discipline reports.
Monitors program areas and maintains cleanliness and order in the facility.
Answers parent questions and concerns.
Cleans and maintains the appearance of the area.
Attends mandatory training for licenses and certificates.
Observes all approved safety and health policies and procedures pertaining to his/her work activities and performs all work tasks in a safe and healthy manner in accordance with county policy.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS
Performs other related duties as required.
MINUMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be a senior in high school at the time of application submission or at least 18 years old. Experience as Camp Counselor and/or working with children highly desired. Demonstrates a passion for working with kids and having fun. Must be enthusiastic and show your spirit! Fantastic communicator with the ability to interact in a clear, motivating and fun manner with children. Must possess a valid Driver’s License.
