What are the responsibilities and job description for the Part-time Teacher of Music Technology position at Bryanston School?
To start September 2023
We seek to appoint an innovative and energetic teacher to inspire pupils in this key subject. The successful candidate will have high expectations, dynamism, and excellent communication skills. We expect our teachers to champion their subject and to encourage intellectual curiosity.
The Tom Wheare Music School offers pupils a wonderful inclusive environment in which to explore and develop their musical aspirations, with architecturally celebrated performance spaces, recording studios, rehearsal and teaching rooms which is run by a large team of dedicated and highly regarded musicians.
The subject is a popular option at A level. A knowledge of this qualification and experience of teaching to a high level would be desirable. As well as teaching Music Technology to A level standard, there may be opportunities to teach Music and Music Technology classes lower down the school or on a 1-1 basis. The successful candidate will be equipped to guide pupils with aspirations to study post-A Level at leading institutions.
Bryanston offers a competitive salary, a great working environment and state of the art facilities.
Closing date for applications: Sunday, 19 March
Bryanston is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Applicants will be required to undergo child protection screening appropriate to the post, including checks with past employers and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).
The post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the School is therefore permitted to ask job applicants to declare all convictions and cautions (including those which are "spent" unless they are "protected" under the DBS filtering rules) in order to assess their suitability to work with children.
