POSITION SUMMARY

The Compliance Privacy Specialist will serve as a resource to the BSA Health System and provide support for compliance policy and procedure development and implementation, auditing and monitoring, training and education, eligibility screening, compliance investigations, and report. This position will provide support for the facility's HIPAA Privacy program, development, implementation, maintenance, and compliance of it.

• Assist in the development of training and education programs pursuant to regulatory changes and topics identified as potential risk areas
• Participate in various compliance and privacy investigations
• Audit and monitor trends, compile data and perform trend analysis. Assess results and participate in development of mitigation and improvement activities when opportunities for improvement are identified through audit and monitoring variances.
• Serve as an internal resource for all privacy and compliance related matters and cooperate with external parties, with the assistance from the Ardent Privacy Director, in any privacy reviews or investigations.
• Be a standing member on the facility's Compliance Committee meeting to report metrics of the privacy program and to track any corrective action items at this committee.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Compliance leadership at BSA or the Ardent Enterprise.

Education:

• Associates degree in Health Information Management, Nursing, Business, or a related field; or equivalent related experience and must obtain an associates degree within two years of hire date.

Preferred Education, Experience and Knowledge:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field
• Experience in a privacy/compliance in a healthcare environment
• Knowledge in HIPAA privacy laws, access and release information
