What are the responsibilities and job description for the Accountant position at BSA Services Corp.?
Essential Functions:
- Provides financial support for local CER development. Monitors and tracks CIP spending for local capital projects. Maintains the fixed asset system for the location on a quarterly basis.
- Responsible for accurate recording of manufacturing and overhead costs.
- Analyzes monthly operating results and key operating measures.
- Produces daily, weekly, monthly reports of manufacturing results and performance.
- Assists local management in identifying and implementing cost reduction opportunities.
- Responsible for month end closing of plant’s books, including the recording of journal entries, completing reconciliations and variance analysis as required.
- Development of burden/overhead rates which reflect actual historical costs.
- Maintains plant’s standard cost rates in ERP System.
- Ensures adequate internal controls exist and are utilized at the plant level. Identifies areas of weakness and assists local management in implementing corrective action.
- Assists local management in developing forecasts and annual plan.
- Lead person for plant’s inventory control/cycle count program, including auditing of program and addressing any issues through corrective actions.
- Address data integrity issues in ERP System.
Education and Training
· BS/BA Degree in Accounting required
Minimum Qualifications
· Manufacturing cost experience (1- 3 yrs) preferred
· Proficient in Excel and Word programs
· Cost analysis in a manufacturing/machining environment strongly preferred
· Experience in standard cost systems strongly preferred
· Strong analytical skills with ability to analyze and interpret data required
· 3 years’ experience developing variable and fixed overhead rates a plus
· Familiarity w/ General Accounting required (A/P, Payroll, General Ledger)
