Technology Instructor, Part-Time

Pay: $25/hour

BSD Education is seeking a motivated, energetic individual to deliver technology and coding programs that empower kids with 21st Century skills. The Technology Instructor will be responsible for leading classes and ensuring the overall success of these programs. Candidates must be self-learners who are good communicators, fun-loving, and positive role models.

The Technology Instructor does not need to provide or develop their own curriculum. All educational resources will be provided by BSD Education

Class Schedule & Details

• Dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays, April 2 - May 30, 2024
• Time: 2:30-3:30pm CT
• 1 section of 10-15 students, 5th-8th grade
• Opportunity for classes to continue each quarter in successive 9-week programs
• Location: Whitefish Bay, Milwaukee, WI
• Paid training, up to 3 hours
• Paid for up to 30 minutes of prep/post time per class

Responsibilities

• Teach coding, technology, and computational thinking enrichment courses
• Engage students and foster a lively classroom
• Manage correspondence with students
• Communicate with administration and management regarding student attendance, progress, and grading
• Review & follow program policies and procedures
• Attend training sessions as needed
• Prepare before classes by reviewing lesson plans, and be ready to teach when class starts
• Provide feedback, documentation, and quality assurance work for classes

Qualifications

• Teaching or experience working with children
• Able to communicate effectively with school staff and team members
• Reliable, organized, adaptable, and positive
• Interested in HTML/CSS/JavaScript/Python; experience is a plus
• Able to travel to teaching location in Whitefish Bay, Milwaukee, WI
