The Sample Receiving Clerk is responsible for the interpretation of client chain of custody forms, and entry into the LIMS database, using the login functions.
- Follows all established standard operating procedures for the implementation of sample receiving functions.
- Receives samples from shipments and walk-in clients, and completes chain of custody documentation. Provides a point of contact information source for clients regarding sampling, bottle orders, and the sample receiving process.
- Enters all chain of custody information into the laboratory LIMS program including bottle and sample information, client information and requests, and selects profiles and tests.
- Completes bottle integrity forms, rush request forms, and prints confirmation reports. Organizes and completes paperwork packages, by submission, for review and filing in the in-process submission filing system.
- Scans all containers into the correct storage locations and places said containers in the areas established in the standard operating procedure for sample handling.
- Other duties as assigned by department manager such as answering phones, assisting client walk-ins and preserving samples.
