Overview:

The Sustainable Production Alliance (SPA) is a coalition of leading industry stakeholders committed to advancing sustainability across the entertainment industry. The Sustainable Production Alliance is currently hosted by BSR, a sustainable business network and consultancy focused on creating a world in which all people can thrive on a healthy planet.

 

The Sustainable Production Alliance is seeking a part-time contractor to serve as a Sustainable Production Lead to spearhead our efforts in promoting sustainable practices in the production of filmed entertainment. This role demands a unique blend of production experience, sustainability expertise, robust project management skills, and the ability to navigate and facilitate decisions among diverse stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

Day to day project management for SPA’s Clean Energy and Materials Working Groups, including:

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate working group agendas, workplans, and resources.
  • Manage delivery of key SPA programs and projects, including managing third-party consultants where necessary.
  • Help draft and develop resources such as training materials or tipsheets for key industry audiences
  • Help design and implement an organizing strategy to expand SPA’s reach with a broader array of industry voices and roles.
  • Build and maintain relationships with industry professionals in various roles that influence the adoption of sustainable production practices.
  • Help to coordinate educational events such as presentations, speaker series, lunch & learns, etc. to engage industry stakeholders
  • Help facilitate collaborative efforts around industry benchmarking reports and carbon calculator tools
  • Monitor and report Working Group KPI’s

Support SPA’s general efforts:

  • Help organize, support, and/or attend relevant industry events.
  • Stay up to date on sustainable production resources and solutions
  • Contribute to SPA communications efforts including newsletters, blog posts, social media posts, fundraising proposals, etc

Desired Qualifications:

  • The individual must possess the ability to collaborate with a wide range of industry stakeholders, ranging from production executives to sustainability managers.
  • Proven project management skills, including keeping multi-year projects on track
  • Sustainability experience and/or training. Familiarity with carbon accounting and clean technology preferred.
  • An understanding of film and tv development in the entertainment industry. Production experience a major plus.
  • Bachelor's Degree with a minimum 3 years relevant industry experience (sustainability or production experience).
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to author and deliver high quality presentations
  • Proficient at Microsoft & Google document management systems
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks under tight deadlines
