Buckeye Partners is currently seeking a Settlements Analyst I with experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payables to join our growing team!
Role Summary:
The Settlements Analyst I role is responsible for settling Refined Product Sales and Purchases with counterparties and invoicing.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities include:
- Product Movement Verification. Verifying and actualizing product movements which result in customer billings.
- Billing. Perform invoice and billing reviews that include:
- Generating customer invoices in accordance with contractual terms and operations data to confirm accuracy and completeness prior to distribution to customer.
- Creating miscellaneous invoices manually as required.
- Confirming completeness of monthly and other periodic billings.
- Distributing invoices timely to the customer.
- Resolving billing discrepancies or issues timely.
- Month- End. Completing monthly close activities, including validation and approval of charges from billing system.
- Customer Service. Providing good customer service for customers and interfacing regularly with the Customer Service group to resolve transaction related issues and ensure increased customer satisfaction.
- Credit Card Payments. Processing Credit Card payments for Direct Ship business and ensuring these credits are issued correctly from Suppliers on daily Draft Notifications.
- Providing data on request to assist in completing audit/Sox control related responsibilities. Fulfill audit requests as needed.
- SOX Documentation. Maintaining and revising SOX documentation and evidence of controls.
- And other duties as assigned based on specific area of focus.
Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting OR equivalent work experience required.
- Related experience in accounts receivable and/or accounts payables is preferred.
- Industry specific experience is a plus.
- Experience utilizing Solarc RightAngle, JD Edwards, Synthesis, Insight or similar systems is a plus.

Other Skills, Attributes and Abilities:
- Proficiency using Microsoft office, with emphasis on Excel required.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills are essential for the successful execution of responsibilities in this role.
- Well developed analytical, planning and organizing skills and the ability to manage multiple high priority and high visibility processes are required.
- Flexibility to work as part of a team, including cross-training for adequate coverage of daily tasks.

- This person must perform duties that require considerable use of arms and extended hours of sitting.
