About the Role

As the Volunteer Engagement Project Coordinator- Part Time, you will help impact the lives of the children and families we serve by administratively assisting the Volunteer Engagement Team across the state of Texas; to coordinate, supervise, and engage volunteers in support of Buckner International programs and fundraising efforts..

What You’ll Do
As a member of our team, you will make an impact through the accomplishments of the following responsibilities:

  • Assist the Volunteer Engagement Team by helping maintain a comprehensive volunteer program, through screenings, supervision, documentation of volunteer/intern engagement, and compliance with policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the administrative processes that’s needed to screen and onboard new volunteers and interns across the state of Texas.
  • Support the Volunteer Engagement Coordinator’s in the DFW region through in-person volunteer management, respond to incoming volunteer inquiries and applications, maintaining detailed records and computerized volunteer management database.
  • Assist with special events/assigned projects and tasks as they involve volunteers.
  • Act as a liaison to the community and represent Buckner during assigned events and functions as needed, which may include speaking in public on behalf of Buckner when required.
  • Support the Director of Volunteer Engagement as needed in assigned projects or special events.
  • Work nights and weekends as needed to meet business needs.
  • Perform special assignments, projects, and other duties as required.

What You’ll Bring to the Team
To be successful in this role and a great addition to our team, we need you to come with the following:

  • An in-depth understanding of general office practices or procedures. This field of knowledge is normally associated with the attainment of a bachelor’s degree, but degree is not required. Involves ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions dealing with abstract variables.
  • Proficient and experienced with Microsoft applications including Excel, Outlook, and Word. Requires the ability to use a computer to access information and input data.
  • The ability to maintain confidentiality, accuracy, attention to detail and a willingness to learn volunteer management software to help track, process and screen volunteers.
  • Proficient ability to speak clearly, read and write English. Requires ability to clearly communicate information via phone or email to various audiences.
  • The ability to drive assigned vehicle(s) or personal vehicle, with the appropriate state license. Must provide proof of liability insurance and  be eligible to be insured under Buckner’s insurance policy. Must be age 21 or older to drive on behalf of Buckner.
  • Be in sufficient good health to properly perform duties; including but not limited to the ability to walk, stand, and sit for prolonged periods of time, the ability to use up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently.
  • A Professional commitment to Christian principles and teachings to perform tasks and responsibilities in alignment with Buckner’s mission, vision, and values.

  • Prior related working experience in volunteer coordination and/or event planning.
