Training coordinator

This position is responsible for coordinating on-site and off-site public safety training programs, selecting, and scheduling adjunct instructors, evaluating instructor performance, and managing required course equipment, resources, and materials.

This position is responsible for the management of the support staff to coordinate, process, and document all related information regarding on-site and off-site support.

This position will report directly to the director of operations. Special assignments could be assigned by the Executive Director of Public Safety.

This position will take an active part in strategic planning and administrative support area. This position requires a responsible, self-motivated individual that will function as the leader in a high-volume fast-paced office.

This position requires flexibility in work schedules, multi-tasking, working with frequent interruptions, and meeting defined deadlines for assigned tasks.

Primary Functions :

Coordinating on site and off site public safety training courses for emergency services organizations.

Selecting qualified and certified adjunct instructors for training courses.

Managing the processes of the offices at the training facility.

Managing the support staff at the training facility.

Performing special projects as assigned.

Secondary Function :

Proctor / Evaluate certification exams as requested.

Salary Range : $50,618 - $64,630 (commensurate with experience)

Minimum Requirements :

High School diploma or general equivalency and 3 years work experience or Associate degree.

4-6 years job related experience in customer service.

Knowledge of FERPA regulations and p olicies and procedures regarding the State Training system as defined by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner.

Experience with the PA Public Safety Training System, professional certification testing through ProBoard.

Management and customer service skills.

Good interpersonal skills

Basic skills in Microsoft Word and Excel

basic project management

Valid Driver's license

All office staff must have a Child Abuse Clearance due to their interaction with minors in relation to courses.

Demonstrate Flexibility and adaptability for off-site training / testing opportunities.

Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.

Skills with Datatel / Colleague database.

Good problem-solving ability

Capability to work in an active environment with constant interruptions.

Effective communication skills with a diverse student and instructor population

Capacity to manage a heavy workload.

Ability to maintain a positive attitude in the event of agitated students and / or instructors.

Proficiency in multitasking

Ability to move and set up various training props and tools.

At this time this position operates on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus / in-office presence at least three days a week.
