A design consultant with Budget Blinds involves showing people our beautiful window coverings and helping them select the best solutions for their homes. We are a newly acquired, veteran owned and operated Budget Blinds franchise in Chester and Henrico. Budget Blinds is the industry leader in custom window coverings. We are expanding and looking for a high performer to join our team.

We are seeking a PART TIME window covering design consultant to be part of a team in an established, successful, positive, and growing window coverings business. Quality leads are provided. Salary is commission based. Company reimburses for mileage. Salesperson to travel in the Chester and Henrico areas to customers’ homes to provide an in-home consultation and quote. Job requires sales skills, knowledge of window coverings (training to be provided), measuring of windows (training to be provided), assisting customers in selection of colors and styles suited to their needs, budgeting and decorating, as well as ordering products from vendors.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform in-home consultations that lead to sales, upselling and cross selling. Maximize each sales appointment or lead. Follow up with customers who didn’t close during the in-home presentation to ensure the sale within 24 hours. Maintain 50% Quote to Close Ratio: National Budget Blinds Franchise average is 65%.
  • Provide 5-star customer service with a focus on finding solutions to the customer’s needs. Stay involved throughout the sale, order, and installation process; answer customer questions and/or concerns. Be personable and have the ability to listen to the customers wants and needs.
  • Must be reliable when appointments are scheduled. Arrive on time, no cancel or rescheduling.
  • Accurately complete all data input and collect payment using our invoicing system. Avoid errors, double check quotes and understand product details.
  • Work independently by calling vendors with questions or looking up product information.
  • Have an enthusiastic and positive attitude as well as the ability to quickly learn our processes and procedures.
  • Be goal driven with the ability to handle multiple customer priorities while closing sales and meet or exceed sales goals and customer service standards.
  • Demonstrate a knowledge of our products and services, using this to increase sales. Maintain professional and technical knowledge of vendor specifications, meet with vendor sales reps, and attend educational workshops.

Qualifications

Must have reliable transportation to travel to customer sites and a valid driver’s license.

  • Training will be provided, but experience and understanding of decorating, design, and décor is a plus; proficient in window treatment products including blinds, shades, shutters, drapes, and smart home automation.
  • Proficient with technology, smart phone, iPad, ability to use our pricing tool in the home, and credit card swiping.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook.
  • Must be comfortable using a computer; we will train selected candidate to use our invoicing system
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle.
