Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Tax Assessor to join our team. As a Tax Assessor, you will be responsible for evaluating and determining the value of properties for tax assessment purposes. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical skills and knowledge of financial concepts. This position is under the supervision and evaluation of the Township Superintendent. Duties include but are not limited to the following: to meet all assessing requirements as put forth by the State of Michigan; to have and maintain a Level 3 Assessing Certification; to maintain and certify the assessment roll; and to perform related work as required.
An employee in this class may be called upon to any or all of the following duties. The examples listed below do not include all the tasks which the employee may be expected to perform but are considered functions of this classification.
Skills:
To excel in this role, you should have the following skills:
- Strong understanding of financial concepts
- Knowledge of private equity and Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) programs
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed assessments
- Attention to detail and accuracy in assessing property values
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with property owners, colleagues, and other stakeholders

Pay: $65,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
