Job Posting for Workforce Business Service Specialist at BUFFALO TRACE AREA DEVELOPMENT DISTRICT INC
Location: Kentucky Career Center – Maysville or Morehead
Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. / evening hours for meetings, as applicable
Salary Range: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00
The selected candidate should have excellent communication skills, be able to adapt in a fast-paced environment, be innovative and self-motivated with attention to detail and meeting deadlines. He/she should be able to plan and organize events. Public speaking and critical writing skills are vital. Coordination and collaboration with partner agencies are required.
Job Responsibilities
Plan and facilitate Business Team meetings and provide regular business statistics to team members, the workforce board, and community partners.
Research and understand business needs in the local area.
Develop and present business service strategies regarding hiring, retention, wage analysis, and other workforce issues.
Develop work-based learning opportunities within the local area.
Plan and coordinate business service activities, such as hiring events, open houses, etc.
Acquire and maintain a detailed knowledge of TENCO’s policies, principles, strategic goals, and program services.
Present information to small and large groups.
Develop and maintain professional relationships with local, state, and federal partners.
Draft content for publications and newsletters.
Coordinate outreach activities for customers and businesses when dislocations occur.
Be familiar with programs that support business, such as incentives, bonding, and training dollars.
Keep up to date on changes in the economy, sector, career pathways, wages, high-demand occupations, and economic obstacles in the local area.
Work as a team to locate and complete grant applications.
Provide training and guidance to local Business Service Coordinators.
Professionally represent the agency and Board in Chamber, Alliance, and civic events.
Develop and implement processes to ensure local, state, and federal performance and expectations are exceeded.
Participate in and/or organize Industry Sector teams.
Present data on high demand occupations to schools and other organizations.
Other duties as assigned.
Education And Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Public Relations, or Related Field with five or more years of work experience preferred.
