Reports to: Parts Manager

Primary Duties: Non-Exempt Position

Primary Responsibilities:

The Parts Driver is expected to

• Pick up and deliver parts and equipment to customers, wholesale accounts, and vendors.
• Check with the parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counter people or shipping and receiving clerk before leaving to coordinate any last-minute pick-ups or deliveries.
• Verify that invoice matches purchase order for each pick-up.
• Check payments received with the invoices for each delivery.
• Keep an accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups. Requests recipient's signature on each delivery entry.
• Unload truck each night. Turns in all paperwork and undelivered parts.
• Handle basic maintenance of the truck including filling tank with gas, checking oil, keeping it clean and making sure required inspections are performed.
• Advise parts manager if delivery trucks need major repairs and maintenance.
• Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department.
• Helps with stocking and posting orders when they arrive to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts.
• Perform other duties requested from management.

Job Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent work experience.
• One-year related experience and/or training required.
• Must be able to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Must have basic computer skills.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.

Physical Requirements:

• Required to operate equipment and always move vehicles in a safe manner.
• Exposure to shop environments such as noise, dust, odors and fumes, chemicals, and adhesives.
• Required to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
• Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
• Required vision include close vision.
• Required to operate equipment and always move vehicles in a safe manner.
