BuildWitt is on a mission to build a better Dirt World by solving the biggest problems in the heavy civil construction, earthwork, and mining industries.
BuildWitt Creative is a full-service creative agency serving clients across the U.S. and now globally. Our in-house Media team is looking for an experienced video editor who can bring our teams creative vision to life while serving the marketing and recruiting needs of our clients. Our work typically revolves around solving the recruiting needs of our clients through storytelling, but we occasionally work on projects geared toward growing brand recognition or driving new business.
*Required: Please submit at least 3 examples of projects you have edited, specifically story driven, commercial or documentary style work.
What you will get to do day-to-day:
- With creative guidance from the Field Team Lead and Producer, you will be the editor behind the stories of our clients in the Dirt World
- Edit short form stories, long form (rare), and other promo content for digital and social purposes
- Able to utilize storyboards, outlines and daily logs from the Team lead to craft edits, but also able to craft edits with little direction
- Work with Field Team Lead and Social team to create attention grabbing social cutdowns of longer form content
- Opportunity to collaborate with internal creative team to develop new concepts and unique approaches to some projects.
The skills you possess:
- You are a strong storyteller and passionate about the impact our work has on the industry
- You have at least 3-4 years experience editing video, preferably at a creative agency
- Well versed in the Adobe Suite (Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Etc.) You must edit in Premiere
- You have a solid understanding of color correction and grading, and audio sweetening
- You’re a team player, always eager to grow and open to notes and constructive feedback
- Good communication is key
- Able to manage multiple projects at once and work under strict deadlines
- Able to flex and adapt creativity, with a focus on problem-solving
- Attention to detail and media management
- You have a basic understanding of the broader video production world
You will have the best opportunity to succeed in this role if:
- You have Field videography skills (also a plus)
- You are comfortable with the startup environment

Is there any travel? How much? Your main responsibility will be editing from Nashville, but on rare occasions there may be opportunity to travel when additional shooting support is needed, depending on your skillset.
Is this position required to be local to Nashville? Yes! This is a hybrid role- you can work from home and the Nashville office in Germantown.
