About the role:
As a Senior Database Administrator, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of business critical products and solutions for Bullhorn’s production environment utilizing primarily MS SQL Server for a global customer base, while ensuring 24/7 availability. This position requires a deep understanding of database administration, data backup & recovery, security, query tuning, maintenance and configuration.
\n- Install, design and maintain database system software and implement database security.
- Monitor and analyze database performance, identify database current and future performance bottlenecks and ensure effective and efficient utilization of database systems/processes. Work with development teams to tune and optimize queries.
- Develop, implement and test database backup and recovery policies and procedures.
- Create and maintain documentation for SQL database policies, procedures, and processes.
- Provide technical leadership on all the stages of database implementation and/or database related deployments including development and maintenance of strategic, architectural and tactical plans for the database environments
- Troubleshoot performance and non-performance related issues either independently or in conjunction with other DBAs.
- Manage technology projects from initiation to completion.
- Ensure 24/7 availability, security & integrity of the production application environment. This includes participation in 24/7 on-call responsibilities on a rotating basis.
- Participate in continuous business process redesign to improve internal operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology\Computer Science or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- 5-7 total years experience with database administration with a focus on MS SQL Server 2008R2 through 2019
- Extensive experience with query tuning and database performance optimization
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with Azure PaaS SQL offerings
- Experience in SQL Server High Availability, Log Shipping and Replication
- Experience in automation and managing large database environments
- Proficiency in powershell and\or Python scripting
- Strong communication and writing skills to manage stakeholder relationships in a challenging & high pressure environment
- 3-5 years of experience with MySQL 5.x, MongoDB and PostGreSQL
- Experience with LINUX server a plus
- Experience maintaining a high volume, mission critical application in a SaaS environment
- Experience with Windows Server administration
