TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 190 days
SALARY: Based on Bulloch County Schools salary/supplement schedule
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Principal or designee
POSITION SUMMARY:
This position will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the building they are assigned as well as assisting with heavy lifting and other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School diploma or GED.
- Valid Georgia driver’s license.
- Experience working with a diverse group of people.

- Must be able to provide a criminal background check with results that adhere to Bulloch County Board of Education Policy GAK(1).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledgeable of how to operate and maintain floor clearing equipment.
- Familiar with the use of chemicals and chemical storage responsibilities (MSDS requirements).
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Operates power tools and environmental housekeeping equipment.
- Performs manual labor both indoors and out, in all weather conditions.
- Must follow all safety rules and be able to pass drug and/or alcohol tests when required.
- Performs minor repairs and assembles furniture as needed.
- Performs routine tasks as it relates to trash disposal, mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, window cleaning, conference room setups, etc.
- Maintains work area such as custodial closets, storage rooms, supply rooms and custodial carts.
- Reports facility components, equipment and tools needing repairs to head custodian.
- Uses cleaning supplies, tools and equipment as directed by head custodian, principal/supervisor and/or designee.
- Reports all injuries, accidents and damages of facilities and equipment to head custodian.
- Performs routine and periodic housekeeping tasks, maintaining cleanliness of the facility to include restrooms, classrooms, offices, etc.
- Keeps all chemicals secured and properly stored.
- Maintains MSDS on hand for all products used and uses only products provided by the school system for cleaning.
- Performs preventative maintenance on all custodial equipment and tools.
- Performs other duties as requested.

EVALUATION: Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent or designated supervisor in accordance with Policy GBI - Evaluation of Personnel.
