PURPOSE
To assist in the delivery of the Trade Compliance Strategy and ensure day to day compliance with cross border requirements
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Advise customs brokers of clearance instructions including commodity codes, PGA requirements, or any specific import requirement/restrictions for any given product.
- Key liaison between internal teams and customs brokers to resolve any US or Canada customs clearance issue.
- Support global teams with facilitating customs clearance for time sensitive shipments.
- Assign accurate US and Canadian HTS codes for Burberry products (primarily apparel, footwear, accessories) and any non-stock items (store fixtures / construction articles). Maintain and update classification database frequently.
- Maintain recordkeeping that is in line with the US and Canada customs requirements
- Support multiple customs duty savings programs including duty drawback in the US and Canada
- Ensure compliance with US Fish and Wildlife entry requirements, including CITES, and provide guidance to the business on requirements as needed.
- Run various reports with ACE to analyse trade data and calculate duty totals
- Conduct weekly and monthly US and Canada entry audits, analyse/present results, and facilitate post entry corrections
- Develop and/or amend Standard Operating Procedures (SOPS)
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
- Compliant and timely customs entry submissions into the US and Canada
- Maintain good working relationships with key Burberry internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain US and Canada audit program in line with business requirements

QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE
- Relevant academic qualifications
- Licenced Customs broker preferred. Willing to take customs brokerage exam course is required
- Good standard of English.
- Basic understanding of international trade, import duties, commodity codes, incoterms,
- 2-4 years of experience in import customs compliance in a related industry. Apparel industry preferred
- Experience with First Sale is a plus
- Basic use of SAP preferred

• Expected base salary for the role will generally be between $65,000.00 and $93,000.00 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base salary if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, discretionary bonuses, short and long-term incentive packages, and Company-sponsored benefit programs.
• This position is at-will and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
