Corrections Case Manager

Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Case Manager to join our team. Under general supervision, the Corrections Case Manager will function as a member of a team providing services to an assigned caseload of juveniles. The work of the Corrections Case Manager will consist of providing individual and/or group counseling, assistance in the development of and then implementation of treatment programs, developing case histories, gathering social and placement history, treatment, and court information on juveniles, writing reports and recommendations regarding juvenile behavior, placement, and performance for the circuit courts, acting as a role model for the juvenile as well as serving as the liaison between the juvenile, legal representatives, family members, treatment providers, and/or court officials. Compiles information for juveniles’ involvement in crime and criminal activities, records database statistics, and recommends treatment programs to assist the juvenile in controlling and overcoming problems. Will perform other duties as assigned.

In accordance with SPB 3088 effective 10/7/23, $5000 will be added to the minimumstarting rate of pay for all classifications within a Critical Vacancy Pay SupplementalFacility. Critical Vacancy Pay Facilities: Huttonsville Correctional Center and Jail, MountOlive Correctional Complex and Jail, Western Regional Jail and Corrections Facility,Northern Correctional Facility (including Ohio County Correctional Center), NorthernRegional Jail and Correctional Facility, Chick Buckbee Juvenile Center, Vicki DouglasJuvenile Center, Potomac Highlands Regional Jail and Correctional Facility, and EasternRegional Jail and Corrections Facility (including Martinsburg Correctional Center) (SPB3088) Employees in this classification shall receive an annual base building pay differential
each fiscal year of $250 after completing one year of service.
If an employee is hired into a Critical Vacancy Pay Facility (CVPF) and leaves thefacility, the additional pay differential of $5,000 shall be removed from their salary,unless transferring to another CVPF.

Minimum Qualifications:

Training: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in criminal justice, corrections, psychology, sociology, counseling, counseling and guidance, criminology, social work or related field.

Substitution: Experience in an area of corrections programming or treatment may be substituted for the required training on a year-for-year basis.

Experience: Two years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in inmate counseling, security or treatment in a correctional setting or in counseling, counseling and guidance, as a probation and parole officer, mental health counselor or social worker.

Substitution: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in criminal justice, corrections, social work or related behavioral science field may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

PG: 12 $30,502 - $56,428

Market Rate: $49,718
