The Data Engineering Department is instrumental in advancing our company's data science and integration initiatives. Our primary objective is to ensure seamless integration of diverse survey platforms, external data sources, and preparation of data for business intelligence tools. As the company evolves, we continuously adapt and expand our data architecture to meet the current and anticipated needs of the data science and analytics teams across the organization.
Burke is looking for a Data Engineer to join our Data Solutions team. The Data Engineer would be part of our team which actively collaborates with stakeholders to comprehensively understand data requirements, ensuring alignment with key success criteria. We manage complex data sets in various formats, critically assessing, endorsing, and implementing strategic business solutions. Central to our operations is the design and execution of ETL (extract, transform, load) workflows, enabling the effective utilization of survey data and other sources for diverse business and analytical purposes.
What You’ll Do:
- Integrate data into business intelligence, analytics, and data science platforms, working with both internal and external data sources.
- Transform and manage survey data to support market research, creating reusable datasets, and facilitating their use across our organization.
- Communicate with clients to understand data needs, ensure data quality, and oversee the data transformation processes.
- Use various software tools for data querying and reporting.
- Troubleshoot data issues, refining workflows, and developing new reporting methods.
- Apply expertise with various software tools for data querying and reporting.
What You’ll Need:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years’ experience or Associate’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience.
- Proficiency with data transformation tools (e.g., Alteryx, Knime) and understanding of SQL, including advanced database operations.
- Competence in programming, notably in Python or R, complemented by experience with Jupyter Notebooks and libraries like NumPy and pandas.
- Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, coupled with hands-on experience in visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Proficiency in data preprocessing, maintaining data integrity, and integrating data from various sources like SQL databases, APIs, and common file formats.
- Strong communication skills, able to liaise with diverse stakeholders, from technology experts to project leads.
Other Preferred Experience:
- Proficiency with survey data and metadata from platforms like UNICOM Intelligence, Decipher, and Qualtrics, combined with expertise in cleaning and transforming this data for visualization applications.
- Strong grasp of core ML concepts, statistical methods, and mathematical techniques for real-world problem-solving, enhanced by experience in data modeling and business intelligence systems.
- Familiarity with Azure services related to Data Engineering and Data Science.
