BHS Summer Transitions is a five week program that provides supplemental education and workrelated service experiences. The program is designed for students who are transitioning from eighth grade into BHS who have been identified by middle school counselors as potentially having difficulty in adjusting to high school. The program works with students who are significantly at-risk for dropping out of school and not prepared for the workforce. The program helps to prepare students for the expectations and demands of high school courses and job related experiences.
The BHS Summer Transitions program is seeking experienced and energetic enrichment staff to support students in their morning academic activities and then to lead students during the afternoon while students engage in occupational skills training (using school work and community service projects) and work readiness skills training, which is incorporated in the day to day activities (with some training provided by community partners).

- Ability to commit to work all 5 program weeks, June 26th - July 28th
- Knowledge of best practices regarding student management protocols
- Knowledge of middle and high school research based best practices
- Evidence of strong connection with students and families
- Previous experience leading student community service projects preferred.
- Understanding of summer learning or previous experience working in a summer learning program.
Dates and Position Hours: In-Service Date: June (TBD), 1-2 days
Program Dates: June 26th - July 28th. No program July 4th
Hours: 35 hours/week, daily schedule 8 a.m. - 3 p.m., Monday - Friday
Salary : $27,800 - $35,200
