Overview
As Director of Warehouse Optimization, you will be responsible for providing strategic technology leadership in the Supply Chain domain.
The position will lead the effort to understand / implement systemic solutions to unlock DC efficiencies, as well as modernization of existing LMS and WMS functionalities.
As a senior leader you will bring the big picture thinking to transform Burlington’s distribution capabilities into a competitive advantage and best-in-class technology ecosystem.
A Day in the Life
- Provide strategic and tactical direction to the organization to ensure core supply chain systems are enabling the most efficient warehousing practices
- Leverage operational acumen and work with cross-functional partners in identifying opportunities to improve cost-to-serve and service quality through LMS and WMS solutions
- Collaborate with Industrial Engineering and Continuous Improvement teams to optimize physical, as well as digital, DC workflows and processes
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, new hardware and software applications, in order to pursue viable enhancements for Burlington
- Develop relevant business cases for emerging technologies within retail and adjacent industries
- Monitor progress of multiple major projects and tasks; redistribute resources where appropriate
- Utilize effective project management principles (ex. Agile) to deliver major initiatives on time and on budget
You Will Come With
- BS in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Information Systems or related field required
- Articulate and persuasive leader who can serve as an effective member of the senior management team and who is able to communicate to a broad range of technical and non-technical staff
- Experienced in working with senior technology and business leaders; Strong executive presence
- Ability to conceptualize innovative, yet practical, solutions to daily operational challenges
- Strong project management history - can identify primary and secondary objectives, prioritize time and communicate timeline to team members
- Excellent organizational, written and verbal skills ability to read, write, and interpret business and technical documents.
- Possess strong analytical skills and be able to process disparate data and information into a cohesive and responsive action plan
- Creates a culture of motivation, positive energy and the capacity to recognize, develop, and empower diverse talent
- Proficiency in LMS / TMS / WMS, Manhattan / Blue Yonder, Dematic and / or Daifuku systems highly preferred
This position can sit in any US state except Hawaii, Vermont, Wyoming, and Montana. There is an expectation of 50% travel to DCs across the United States.
75% of your time will be in the DCs with the additional 25% of time project management focused.
