The ideal candidate for this Coordinator position on the global team at Burness is a college graduate with intern experience or one year of professional experience in public relations (or related communications or journalism activities). This position is based in our Bethesda, MD office.

Strong writing, social media and research skills are critical assets for this position, as are attention to detail, flexibility, ability to multitask, and having a curious mind and experience using databases like Muck Rack, Constant Contact; project management systems like Asana; and email marketing services like Mailchimp; and comfort with Microsoft Office.
The communications coordinator will work across projects in global health and the environment, assisting mid-level and senior staff, and will perform a variety of tasks, including but not limited to researching and creating media lists, conducting online research, taking notes at meetings, tracking news coverage, handling logistics for media and stakeholder events, pitching to reporters, drafting digital content optimized for various platforms, and more.
