The Director of Project Management within the Industrial Cybersecurity Consulting group will lead the group of project managers that provide consulting service offerings from 1898 & Co.’s Security & Risk Consulting group, reporting to the Security & Risk, Consulting Business Line Leader.

The Director of Project Management’s primary responsibility is to help lead the Security Consulting project management and execution team to meet the near-term goals and long-term vision for the Business Line that supports the growth of 1898 & Co. The Director of Security Consulting Project Management displays grit in their leadership role and the work they deliver. They are confident and willing to take it to the next level.
The Director of Project Management will be required to lead a team of project managers that work with numerous entities within a variety of industries, including energy, utilities, manufacturing, and government.
What You’ll Do
As a Director of Project Management, you will be responsible for and manage the project management group within the Business Line of Industrial Cybersecurity Consulting service offerings. You’ll work with the Consulting Business Line Leader to support overall business planning, while being responsible for the Consulting Project Management Office’s Profit and Loss. You’ll lead the group of project managers responsible for project execution, and team leadership. Key responsibilities will include:
Support the Consulting Business Line to help create, develop, manage, and communicate the strategic direction of the Consulting Business Line. In collaboration with the Business Line Leader, you’ll help set financial targets for the Consulting project management office, such as sales, revenue, profitability, and chargeability, as well as budgets for overhead expenses, such as marketing trips, conferences, software, certifications, etc. You’ll help prepare and manage a business plan for the strategic growth of the Consulting Business Line, including expansion of current and new service offerings, marketing activities, client retention and acquisition, and staff growth plan.
Support a team of project managers to facilitate timely, quality, and profitable execution of projects within the Business Line and serve as project manager and quality control leader for deliverables. You’re accountable for key financial performance metrics within the Business Line and the execution of projects.
Serve as a project manager leading all aspects of project execution, including scope, schedule, and budget, and ensure quality control of deliverables. You’ll analyze and communicate project status, risks, schedule, and costs to all internal and external stakeholders. You’ll lead multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts. Your communication and planning skills are vital to keeping everyone on the same page with project personnel needs to department management.
Mentor, train, and support the career development of project managers within the business line.
Specific responsibilities include:
Overall management of Security and Risk, Consulting Project Management team
Develop and lead a global Security Consulting Project Management Strategy supporting the successful delivery of security outcomes across Security Risk & Consulting Delivery.
Serve as the Business Owner of Security Consulting Project Management processes, tools and governance, including documentation of processes, the training of Project Management team and assessment of new tools when required.
Align Project management team with 1898 CX Principals
Review PM utilization and assignment of projects -ensuring proper utilization for team members.
Monitor and proactively address project risks.
Guide PMs in ensuring projects are completed on time, on budget, and with quality.
Monitor and ensure CSAT responses on Projects and ensure our projects are at or above satisfactory for all projects.
Ensure we deliver successful client outcomes exceeding our client’s expectations.
Develop annual training plans with all team members.
Review, edit and finalize all PMO process documentation.
Create a repository for all documentation; keeping the repository updated.
PMO Report Development and Analysis
Conduct quarterly reviews and provide feedback to team members on progress.
Ensure proper resource allocation and organizational strategy.
Chair weekly project review meetings to ensure any issues are resolved in a timely manner and are escalated to delivery managers.
Consult, collect feedback on or create, review, and adjust Project Management processes based on company needs and adjust as required.
Train all staff on processes and any changes
Be available for escalations from clients and internal clients on process concerns.
Development of Annual PMO Top 10 list of items to address.
Produce quarterly reports on CSAT results from customers.
Training Development and Management - Create, review, and adjust PMO training.
Create documentation on all training manuals and make available on SharePoint.
Produce monthly reports on overall PM team utilization, project trends across the organization, PMO costing and revenue metrics.
Analyze monthly reports and provide analytics and recommended improvements to leadership.
Create targets for the PMO and assess trends monthly.
Serve as Business Owner for PMO Systems and Tools
Administer, review, disseminate, and adjust Customer Satisfaction surveys.
Support on RFP responses and SOWs with respect to planning and PMO estimates.
Develop, manage, and update all PMO documentation – required for sales, internal training, internal reference, website content, etc.
Manage finance backlog updates, meetings, notes, and escalations on a weekly basis.
Attend management meetings to review overall issues with other managers and present any issues from the PM team.
Develop and maintain relationships with internal clients (Offering Leaders) to ensure escalation paths are clearly defined.

Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in engineering, information technology, or related field from an accredited program.
Advanced degree is a plus such as an MBA.
Minimum 13 years of related experience with a broad and deep understanding of cybersecurity market, including 3 or more years managing projects within the industry.
Deep and broad base of knowledge of industrial cybersecurity.
Proven ability to lead, educate, and train a team of engineers and analysts in regard to development and execution.
Proven ability to lead multi-discipline teams of engineers and analysts.
General business and financial calculation knowledge.
Effective project management skills.
Ability to work with existing and new clients to identify new projects, articulate to the clients our ability to perform those projects, and translate that into the sale of consulting services.
Ability to communicate with various business contacts to understand their needs and translate them into a scope of work that meets their desired outcomes.
Ability to perform under pressure and tight deadlines and to be effective in on-site work environments.
Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, including identification of critical path items to ensure deliverable deadlines are met.
Ability to focus on the big picture to effectively and efficiently provide services that meet client needs, while also having the ability to identify and analyze details that are critical to project outcomes.
Willingness to learn new service offerings as client needs and the market requires changes to the service offerings provided by our group.
Willingness and ability to develop a broad set of service offering types to allow for flexibility to go where the work is.
Willingness to cross-sell other services offered by Burns & McDonnell outside the project manager’s core set of services.
Willingness to negotiate with clients for new service agreements.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PPT).
Ability to deal effectively with a wide variety of industry, government, and public contracts on project-related matters.
