Process Engineer
Responsibilities
Perform all aspects of process engineering assignments requiring knowledge and application of chemical engineering principles.
Perform and audit relief valve design, calculations, evaluations, and mitigations. Experience with relief valve selection is required. Identify relief scenarios, size relief valves and header sizing.
Experience with reviewing and utilizing existing unit heat and material balance, process flow diagrams (PFDs), process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), preparation of process data sheets, equipment sizing, hydraulics line sizing, and supplemental diagrams for process systems.
Utilize computer-based technology for process simulation and equipment design to achieve the process design work as required by the project scope.
Technical review of vendor offers and documentation specific to relief valves and relief devices.
Complete assigned design work per the agreed budget and schedule.
Be familiar with the work process and quality policy and apply as appropriate to each project.
Document all calculations and work processes in a clear, concise format.
Job Requirements:
B.S. Chemical Engineering
MS Office Proficient.
Experience with Aspen Plus, Aspen HYSYS, Flare System Analyzer.
Specific experience with process safety valve sizing, relief system design, and auditing.
IPRSM experience required.
Extensive knowledge of API 520 and 521 standards
Knowledge of API 2000 standard.
Candidates should have 5 years engineering experience with operating or contract engineering company. At least 2 years experience with relief valve calculations is preferred.
