Job Title: IT Manager
Reports To: Vice President of Operations
SUMMARY Performs the daily planning, installation, implementation and maintenance of Burton Electronics Manufacturing electronic information and communication systems as directed.
Primary Job location may be Ironwood, MI or Minoqua, WI.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES are specific to assistance with the following duties outlined and additional duties as assigned:
- Planning, installation, validation and implementation of additions deletions, and modifications to the company’s information systems.
- Management and upgrades to the company’s telephone system and internet connectivity.
- Management of, and upgrades to the company’s computer workstations, software, and computer network systems (including servers, printers, cabling, and all related equipment).
- Oversees ERP system and multiple databases
- Assists employees with computer software and hardware problems, peripheral malfunctions, communication system issues or other information systems related issues to solve problems and assure the smooth operation of the systems,
- Compiles and reviews reports and information on the equipment’s efficiency, malfunctions, required maintenance, etc. to ascertain potential operating cost savings and potential system changes, required upgrades or improvements.
- Provides training and support in the use of all communication equipment, computers, servers, and software systems.
- Coordinates and oversees all equipment vendors, installers, and support personnel during bidding and on-site work as related to the company’s information and communication systems.
- Communicates verbally and/or in writing to inform management of required changes, upgrades, revisions, and status to and for the company’s information systems.
- Performs data backups to ensure successful recovery for servers, and critical production machine computers.
- Supervising and leading any IT staff and/or contractors
RESPONSIBLILITY FOR QUALITY
The employee has the responsibility for quality as specified in the Quality Manual, Standard Operating Procedures, and Work Instructions and any verbal or written instructions. These responsibilities include:
- Ensure compliance to ISO requirements
- Initiate action to prevent occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process, and quality systems.
- Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process, and quality system.
- Initiate, recommend, or provide solutions through designated channels.
- Verify the implementation of solutions.
- Control further processing, delivery, or installation of non-conforming product until the deficiency or unsatisfactory condition has been corrected.
Employees will insure their conformance to customer requirements documented and set forth in the job folders. Industry standards are to be used and followed to supplement the customer information.

EDUCATION and/or COMPETENCIES
Minimum of 2 year Associate’s degree in electronics, engineering, or IT support equivalent; experience in Information Systems Technology, computer networking, and installation required. IT experience in a manufacturing setting is required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to other employees of the organization. Ability to perform routine technical computer tasks including spread sheets, etc.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret line and bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems by applying logical reasoning.
INTERFACING ABILITY
