What are the responsibilities and job description for the Commercial Loan Coordinator position at Busey?
WHAT YOU’LL DO
The Commercial Loan Coordinator will work with the Relationship Manager, commercial loan documentation, loan servicing, and customers to process all aspects of the commercial lending function.
Additional Duties:
- Gather financials and other necessary documentation, from prospects and existing customers needed to submit to underwriting.
- Input new loan requests in credit system and maintain the loan record throughout the loan process – terms of loan, collateral, borrowers/guarantors, upload supporting relationship and loan documentation, etc.
- Analyze loan packages and collateral files for completeness.
- Research and work with Relationship Managers to clear collateral and financial exceptions as necessary.
- Assist Relationship Managers to manage their maturing loans report and help facilitate timely loan renewals.
- Manage loan files and closings for new, renewed, modified loans.
- Assist customers with loan advances/pay downs/payments, commercial loan questions/inquiries, deposit questions/transaction requests, wires, etc.
In addition to the above, and including educational and training requirements, the Commercial Loan Coordinator Team Lead will also execute the following:
- Supervise, evaluate, provide operational coaching of Loan Coordinators and assist with hiring; will act as a trainer for new members of the Loan Coordination team
- Complete compliance/operational tasks as determined by the Regional Commercial Loan Coordinator Manager.

EDUCATION, TRAINING & STANDARDS OF PERFORMANCE
Loan Coordinator I:
- Requires High School diploma.
- Requires 2 or more years of related banking experience, commercial banking experience preferred.
Loan Coordinator II:
- Requires High School diploma; continued education preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 2 or more years of loan coordinating experience. Capable of handling a pipeline of 15 loans at any given time.
Loan Coordinator III:
- Requires High School diploma; continued education preferred.
- Requires a minimum of 5 or more years of loan coordinating experience. Capable of handling a pipeline of 20 loans at any given time.
- Can be designated as Team Lead based on need and Regional Manager’s/RP’s determination; previous supervisory experience preferred.
