Duties & Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, high-availability system solutions in Azure and on-premises environments.
- Develop and oversee virtualization strategies to optimize resource utilization.
- Collaborate with network team to ensure seamless connectivity and network performance.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure continuous system improvements.
- Participate in the identification and remediation of any security issues/vulnerabilities across the environment and implement repeatable/scalable remediations via automated means where possible.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of standard configuration frameworks across technologies in the Firstech ecosystem.
- Design, Implement and test new technologies/system according to defined requirements.
- Assess, monitor, and project lifecycle of systems to ensure platforms are running supported/secured versions of software, hardware resources remain under vendor/software support and can support future business objectives.
- Consistently assess the utilization of technology resources to determine areas for improvement/cost reductions by moving workloads to more efficient/cost effective solutions.
- Maintain documentation for the purposes of business continuity, supportability, and regulatory compliance.
Education & Experience
- Knowledge of:
- Minimum 5 years of senior level systems engineering experience in a virtualized Microsoft Windows Environment
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft infrastructure technologies including Microsoft Windows Server, IIS, PKI, Group Policy, and Active Directory
- Advanced experience and knowledge working with virtualization technologies such as Nutanix or VMWare.
- Advanced to expert level knowledge of scripting languages such as PowerShell
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of networking concepts including Cisco routers, firewalls, switches, and third-party load balancers.
- Moderate to advanced knowledge of cloud technologies such as Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365.
- Preferred experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.
- Exposure to cloud native technologies such as Kubernetes, Serverless workloads, CI/CD, and Microservices
- Nice to have - Experience with Microsoft O365 (Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, Intune)
- Intermediate experience with SSO technologies such as SAML, OAuth, and OIDC

- Maintain meticulous attention to detail in all aspects of system design and maintenance.
- Education and Training:
- Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
- 5 years of senior level systems engineering experience in a virtualized Microsoft Windows Environment
- Cloud Professional Exam Certificate(s) such as Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- Preferred certification(s) for on-premise technologies such as MCSE, CCNA
