Duties of the Occupational Health Technician includes:
Specimen Collection:
- Perform phlebotomy
- Process lab samples
- Obtain urine samples
- Package samples for shipping
Audio Testing:
- Calibrate audio equipment
- Perform audio tests
- Upload testing results into EMR(Webchart)
Pulmonary function testing:
- Perform daily calibration
- Perform pulmonary function testing
- Upload testing into EMR(Webchart)
Vision testing:
- Perform vision tests
- Perform daily calibration/maintenance of instruments
Respirator fit testing:
- Perform respirator fit testing
- Perform daily calibration/maintenance of instruments
- Upload results into EMR(Webchart)
Drug testing:
- Responsibilities include collection of drug and alcohol testing specimens for the following categories, (preplacement, random, post-accident, follow up, for cause/reasonable suspicion)
- Including calibration and maintenance of breathalyzer
Physical Measurements:
- Blood Pressure, pulse, height and weight
EKG Testing:
- Perform EKGs
Miscellaneous Responsibilities:
- restock supplies in lab and drug testing
- change biohazard waste
- x-ray and medical records project work ·
Testing skills preferred, not required:
- Certified Breath alcohol technician
- Certified Urine drug testing collector
Administrative responsibilities:
Scheduling of Testing Appointments
- Answering of testing scheduling line
- Scheduling of testing appointment in WebChart
- Preparing folder for testing, and completing all required MSR forms
- Back-up for Front Desk Receptionist
- Answering clinic phone
- Transferring calls as necessary
- Greeting all patients
- Printing schedules for front desk and Clinic Team
- Processing Testing Paperwork (completing e-orders, closing encounters, mailing opinion forms and respirator fit cards)
- Scanning testing paperwork into Webchart
- Scanning clinic information into WebChart
- Scheduling of Clinic appointments in Webchart
- Take outgoing mail to the mailbox daily
- Sorting incoming mail daily
Campaign Reviews for assigned groups
- Review campaign contacts, review the HA Plan for the campaign, and review the campaign membership and the respirator information for the campaign.
- Make any changes that are requested to the campaign during the campaign review.
