About the Role

Reporting to the Chief People Officer, the Senior Manager of Total Rewards oversees Business Wire’s compensation and benefits programs. The Senior Manager of Total Rewards ensures that BW’s current and future employees are provided market-competitive compensation, benefits, development, and recognition programs.

What You Will Do
  • Provide salary recommendations for all open requisitions, promotions, and internal transfers according to market compensation data, internal equity and business needs
  • Partner with CPO and HR OPS on the planning and administration of the annual merit review process, while advancing internal job architecture and leveling to meet BW standards.
  • Participate in published salary surveys, and evaluate compensation survey data to determine company's competitive position
  • Partner with finance and CPO on as need basis on sales comp plans.
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local compensation laws and regulations, as well as trends in total compensation practices, in order to ensure Company compliance
  • Review position classifications to ensure compliance with Fair Labor Standards Act
  • Oversee the broker relationship as it relates to the benefits program at BW, ensuring that competitive benefits are offered in all markets at a practical cost to BW
  • Administer the BW 401(k) program and ensure compliance with ERISA guidelines
  • Manage and develop one direct report that oversees benefits functionality.


What You Will Need
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the compensation/benefits industries
  • Ability to multi-task effectively with a variety of people in a team
  • Effective collaboration with leaders in Finance, Accounting, Legal and other departments
  • Coaching and ability to influence leaders
  • Innovative and creative approach to problem solving
  • Strong Project Management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in standard business applications including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)

  • Candidate must be able to be in the office 1-2 days a week in the San Francisco Bay area.  (location easily accessible by public transportation)

  • What We Offer 
  • The base salary range for this position is $140K to $185K/year.  Offered salary will be determined by several factors, including but not limited to: applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with geographic market data.  Business Wire reserves the right to modify this salary range at any time.
