What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Feed Mill Manager position at Butterball?
Assist the Feed Mill Manager with supervision, maintenance and operations of the Feed Mill including preventative maintenance, ingredient receiving, feed manufacturing, feed delivery, quality, production and maintenance costs, and employee relations.
Job Responsibilities:
• Supervise the feed mill employees performing maintenance, receiving, feed production, housekeeping, and feed loadout duties.
• Ensure all manufacturing practice policies set forth by Butterball LLC are completed and documented as assigned.
• Ensure that FDA requirements are followed and documented.
• Assists the Feed Mill Manager with executing the Housekeeping Program, monitor good housekeeping practices, and supervise maintenance of the feed mill equipment in a manner that ensures a clean environment throughout the Mill.
• Enforce all safety procedures and processes necessary to maintain a safe working environment.
• Completes special projects as assigned by Feed Mill Manager
• Assists the Feed Mill Manager to ensure the safety and wellbeing of Butterball LLC employees
• Conduct safety meetings, safety training, safety documentation and continually striving for zero accidents.
Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in feed manufacturing or related field preferred.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Computer skills and good communication skills are a must.
Equipment Operation:
• Understand the operations of a modern automated Feed Mill and the basic maintenance that is required to continue the feed production process.
Physical Demands:
• Ability to walk, stand, kneel, crawl, climb ladders and stairs and grasp/maneuver mechanical items.
• Ability to lift/carry 55 lbs.
• Ability to be comfortable working at extreme heights.
Work Environment:
• Manufacturing environment where the ability to multi-task may be necessary.
• The work environment will include work indoors and outdoors, often in hot and cold conditions.
Contacts:
This person will be in contact with the Feed Mill Manager, Grow Out Manager, Human Resources, Safety Manager, IT, and Purchasing. This person will also have contact with vendors, Government agencies, Railroad personnel and others that have business with the Feed Mill.
