Payroll Manager
The Payroll Manager at Butterfly Effects is a highly visible position in the fast-growing, dynamic autism services industry.
The Payroll Manager plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of payroll to ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll for over 2,000 employees nationally, including both hourly and salaried team members. Acting as the linchpin between HR, Payroll, and Finance/Accounting, the Payroll Manager plans, coordinates and manages all the functions of the payroll department, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating on cross functional projects.
This position is based out of the corporate office in Deerfield Beach, Florida.
Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for overseeing and executing on all aspects of payroll.
- Act as the primary point of contact for HR, Accounting, and Finance teams, fostering enhanced collaboration, communication, and issue resolution.
- Oversees maintenance of payroll records and files including but not limited to PTO, sick leave and other accrued leave.
- Cultivate and maintain a robust relationship with payroll company/PEO counterparts.
- Ensure employee inquiries regarding payroll matters are resolved promptly and accurately.
- Oversee resolution of any payroll-related discrepancies or disputes.
- Navigate and maintain the payroll softwares/systems
- Skillfully troubleshoot and resolve any issues pertaining to payroll software or processes.
- Ensure compliance with federal/state wage and hour employment and unemployment laws.
- Oversee the functions of the payroll coordinator.
- Conduct thorough audits of payroll for accuracy and adherence to policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 6 years of payroll experience; 2 years in a supervisory or management role with payroll oversight.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in managing multi-state payrolls and payroll tax.
- Proficiency in conflict resolution and prioritization in a fast-paced environment.
