Job Description
We are seeking a Renewals Operations Manager who knows how to work across internal teams, solve complex problems, and make the renewals process a fantastic experience for our clients. This innovative and detail-oriented leader will develop, document and implement system and operation processes that efficiently manage proactive renewal and revenue expansion motions, resulting in improved renewal outcomes. The role will play a critical and visible function in supporting the Commercial organization and their work will directly impact our corporate goals. The Renewals Operations Manager will build playbooks and oversee the renewal process for all client segments from e-comm to large strategic accounts, collaborating cross-functionally with Sales, Client Success, Finance, Legal, Systems and Data Science teams. The successful candidate will understand the guidelines for success, partner with the business to build a repeatable renewal process that can scale, and work entrepreneurially to get it done.
Job duties and responsibilities:
- Drive cross-functional renewals improvement and prioritization across the business resulting in positive client retention rates and an improved client experience
- Codify effective tactics in playbooks and drive the implementation and adoption of improved client engagement models related to the renewal process
- Partner effectively with Sales and Client Success counterparts responsible for cross-selling, upselling, and expanding accounts
- Partner with Data and Finance teams to track and report on renewal status
- Pilot a 'Subscription Success' team to test renewal tactics for e-comm client segment
- Provide feedback to help Butterfly stakeholders understand the challenges and opportunities for improving renewal operations based on customer requirements
- Communicate regularly on renewals operations performance and make recommendations based on analysis of key performance areas; foster an environment of continuous improvement
- Serve as an escalation point for internal and external contacts as it relates to the renewal motion
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required
- 7 years in renewals, account management or business operations with deep understanding of the revenue lifecycle in the SaaS and enterprise sales business model
- Experience building, documenting and implementing system driven operations
- Business acumen and ability to analyze data to address client situations
- Comfort with large sets of data and ability to detect patterns (data collection, modeling scenarios, clear presentation of findings)
- Demonstrable experience in a role involving 'critical thinking': i.e.: ability to analyze issues, make decisions and problem solve self-sufficiently
- Strong reputation collaborating across departments as being innovative, accountable, reliable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient with dashboarding and business intelligence tools like Salesforce and Tableau
Location:
At Butterfly we offer a hybrid work environment. For most employees, this means part time in the office (two or more days a week). Based on functional responsibilities and equipment needs, certain roles will require full time on-site support, and select roles will be eligible to be remote.
