Job Description/Summary
Loaders report directly to the Yard Manager and are responsible for preparing shipments for transport by loading and securing freight onto trucks and trailers. They may also unload incoming shipments and transport them to other areas. Truck loaders use a variety of tools and machinery to perform their duties, including pellet jacks and forklifts.
Responsibilities:
- Safely load and unload equipment and materials
- Secure loads onto trucks and trailers
- Unloading incoming shipments from shipping trucks
- Logging inventory
- Perform daily forklift inspections
- Help maintain cleanliness, neatness, and safety of building and lot
- Follow all safety rules and regulations while performing work assignments
- Adhere to all policies and procedures as specified in Employee Handbook
- Other duties as assigned by Yard/Warehouse Supervisor
Qualifications:
- H.S. Diploma or G.E.D. is preferred
- Valid Driver's license
- Safety Conscious
- Able or trainable to drive and operate a forklift is required, previous experience is preferred
- Good physical condition
- Able to bend, stoop, lift, and climb on trailers safely
- Capable of working long hours
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Knowledge of building & ranching materials a plus
- Conduct yourself in a professional manner
