As a Design Coordinator at Ottumwa Works in Ottumwa, IA, you will play a crucial role in supporting all current production products through Engineering Change Management (ECM) processes. This involves managing bills of materials, material masters, drawing revisions, and part attribute data. Your responsibilities will include:
Creating and modifying production level specifications in the factory database using inputs from Engineering Change Management (ECM) and decisions from sister factories.
Communicating engineering and resourcing changes to the production team.
Providing consultation services on standards, processes, and technical issues to identify and solve problems.
Utilizing system-generated reports to ensure accurate data and part integrity.
Acting as a liaison and consultant, providing feedback that influences specification and decision activities, and representing specifications in project teams.
Coordinating and delegating inter-factory decision changes.
Facilitating necessary multi-discipline meetings, documenting and disseminating meeting minutes, and collaborating with stakeholders to establish consistent patterns for adopting
specifications.
Assisting with print reviews, quote requests, and part searches by providing relevant information and performing moderately complex design tasks.
Training team members to ensure adherence to proper processes.
Maintaining experimental drawing revisions and conducting audits of production and prototype builds to verify Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy, including performing BOM analysis.
Required Skills:
Proficiency in Excel with strong problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
Experience working in a team environment.
Understanding of bills of material (BOM).
Familiarity with information systems such as PDMLink (Windchill), Netweaver, and SAP.
Preferred Qualifications:
1 or more years of SAP experience.
1 or more years of PDMLink (Windchill) experience.
Experience in data gathering, issue investigation, and providing recommendations.
1 or more years of cProject experience.
Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Knowledge of project execution and leveraging EPDP processes.
Education/Experience:
Ideally, you will possess a Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Business/Management, Engineering/Technology, or Agricultural Sciences, or have equivalent work experience. Relevant apprenticeship or work experience is also valued.
