This position is remotely based, or it can also be hybrid out of one of our offices. We are unable to offer work sponsorship for this role.

We are seeking a Director of Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) to help develop, implement and oversee strategies, policies and procedures related to governance, risk management and compliance within the organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the company's operations are conducted in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements while minimizing potential risks and maintaining high ethical standards.

Your impact:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive GRC framework, including policies, standards, and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Identify potential risks across the organization's operations, assess their potential impact, and develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
• Monitor and evaluate existing processes and controls to identify areas for improvement and enhance overall governance and risk management effectiveness.
• Collaborate with internal teams, including legal, finance, IT, and operations, to integrate GRC considerations into business processes and decision-making.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps, internal control weaknesses, and areas of non-compliance, and develop action plans to address findings.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on GRC policies, procedures, and best practices to promote a culture of compliance and risk awareness throughout the organization.
• Stay informed about emerging regulatory trends, industry developments, and best practices in GRC, and make recommendations for adjustments to the GRC framework as needed.
• Prepare and present reports to senior management and stakeholders on GRC performance, including key metrics, risk exposure, compliance status, and remediation efforts.
• Manage compliance audit projects within the IT organization

About you:

• Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., MBA, JD) preferred.
• Proven experience (5 years) in a GRC role or a related area such as compliance, risk management, or internal audit.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., GDPR, CCPA standards) affecting the company's operations.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex risks, interpret data, and make informed decisions.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
• Professional certifications such as Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), or Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) are a plus.
• Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to lead and motivate teams, drive change initiatives, and influence decision-making processes.
• Understanding of SOC1 and 2 compliance
