JOB DESCRIPTION

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
• Help patients maintain personal hygiene and cleanliness.
• Encourage and support patients in participating in therapeutic activities and recreational programs.
• Monitor patients' behavior, mood, and overall condition, and report any changes to the nursing staff.
• Observe and document patient interactions, behaviors, and responses to treatment interventions.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients and staff, including monitoring for potential safety hazards.
• Assist in implementing treatment plans developed by the healthcare team, including medication administration and therapeutic interventions.
• Escort patients to appointments, therapy sessions, and recreational activities.
• Provide emotional support and encouragement to patients during treatment and therapy sessions.
• Recognize signs of agitation, aggression, or emotional distress in patients and intervene appropriately to prevent escalation.
• Use verbal techniques and calming strategies to de-escalate tense situations and promote a safe environment.
• Work collaboratively with nursing staff and mental health professionals to manage challenging behaviors and ensure the safety of patients and staff.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care activities, including vital signs, medication administration, and behavioral observations.
• Document incidents, accidents, and any significant changes in patients' condition or behavior.
• Communicate effectively with other members of the healthcare team through written documentation and verbal reports.
• Offer emotional support and encouragement to patients as they navigate their mental health challenges.
• Provide information and education to patients and their families about mental illness, treatment options, and community resources.
• Collaborate with social workers, case managers, and other professionals to coordinate services and support for patients' ongoing care needs.
• Work collaboratively with nurses, psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients.
• Participate in team meetings, case conferences, and interdisciplinary rounds to discuss patient progress, treatment goals, and discharge planning.

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
