We are currently seeking skilled candidates to fill aposition in our large machining center at our facility located in Barberton, Ohio.
The successful applicant will be responsible for setting up and operating large CNC machining centers with both horizontal and vertical machining capabilities, including any related auxiliary equipment. The role involves executing machining operations, such as contour turning and milling, trepanning, boring, drilling, tapping, thread milling, milling with right-angle attachments, and contour turning with facing head attachments.
**Objective
**
Perform multi-axis machining operations with high precision to operate and maintain machines, right-angle heads, facing heads, inspection probes, jib cranes, tool attachments, all types of fixtures, any and all set-up equipment, tool setter, tool holders, precision measuring instruments, power tools, and any necessary hand tools to fulfil job duties.
Collaborate with the programmer to develop and test programs. Proofread programs and report potential problems to the supervisor/programmer.
Position and secure workpieces and fixtures on the worktable.
Retrieve drawings and tools from the crib and verify that the tools are correct for the application and match the tools called for in the program(s).
Assemble tooling as required.
Utilize higher math and engineering theories to work with tooling engineers to devise optimal tooling design and practices.
Direct and assist crane operators in the rigging and moving of parts to load and unload machines.
Conduct final inspection of features using both the inspection probe and precision measuring equipment.
Clean and deburr jobs as necessary. Attach seals and protective covers as required.
Perform minor maintenance on machines, attachments, and tooling as needed.
Maintain equipment and work area cleanliness and orderliness.
Verify the identity and physical characteristics of materials as required.
Maintain necessary records and complete process documentation and any other production records as required. Identify equipment and product as required.
**Minimum Qualifications
**
High school diploma or GED equivalency is required.
A minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in performing precision machining functions on large machines is preferred. Journeyman level machinist designation or equivalent is an advantage.
Ability to work any shift is a must.
Proficiency with CNC controls, including G and M coded commands, is required.
Ability to edit or modify programs as needed. Ability to write minor programs is necessary.
Working knowledge of feeds and speeds for all types of material is necessary.
Ability to work to .000" tolerance and microfinish 16 when necessary.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret geometric tolerancing per ANSI Y14.5 is required.
Ability to demonstrate the use of various measuring instruments, including dial bore gages, indicator snap gages, verniers, .0001 micrometers, and other specialty gaging equipment is an advantage.
Possess skills necessary to maintain accurate documentation and the ability to follow complicated procedures and document accordingly.
Successful completion of pre-employment processes, including skills assessments and mechanical comprehension testing, background check, drug screen, and physical examination, is a must.

While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to communicate verbally and with written information, stand, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use ladders inside and outside of parts being machined. The employee is occasionally required to lift and move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
The pay rate for this position is $35.993 per hour, and it comes with a comprehensive benefits package.
Selected applicants will be subject to a Federal background investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information or matter.
