Machine Specialist -- Full-Time

Our facility in Barberton, Ohio is seeking qualified applicants to fill the role of Machine Specialist. The Machine Specialist will be responsible for the setup of workstations in the fabrication shop, as well as the cleaning, fitting, expanding, and milling of products. Additionally, our Machine Specialists also:

• Must ensure safe operations at all times, adhering to required PPE and following all safety protocols
• Fit, align, assemble, and secure component parts of various sizes, complexities, shapes, or designs; secure fit-ups using welding, bolting, clamping, and similar techniques
• Perform grinding tasks manually or with machine grinders or belt sanders, including removing weld defects, weld splatter, temporary attachments, back grooving, and surface preparation for NDE, inspection, or painting
• Conduct SMAW (stick) welding
• Set up and operate a variety of equipment commonly used for bending, shaping, and contouring of steels and alloyed metals
• Strive for first-time quality in all aspects of job responsibilities
• Construct mock-ups for testing purposes
• Perform tack welds, chamfer, deburr, and blend products
• Transport materials between workstations as needed
• Accomplish close tolerance tasks

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• All work must adhere to customer, code, and quality control requirements
• Successful candidates must pass all mandatory screening and assessment processes, including completing a manually welded horizontal test plate that meets NDT requirements
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints is essential
• A minimum of 2 years' experience in fabrication is preferred. However, lesser experience combined with formal training and/or previous certifications may be considered
• High school diploma/GED is a requirement for all BWXT positions, and graduation date will be verified through a background check
• Applicants must be a US Citizen with no dual citizenship
• Flexibility to work ANY SHIFT is necessary
• Successful completion of pre-employment physical, respirator fit test, drug screen, and background check is mandatory prior to the hire date

Please note: The hourly rate for this position is up to $33.669 and is complemented by a comprehensive benefits package.
