Reports To: Senior Buyer(s), Dir. of Service Ops and Sr. VP of Asset Mgmt.
Must live in Eastern Pennsylvania, North or Central Florida or Virginia
Travel up to 100% of the time
POSITION SUMMARY
Follow established company policies and procedures to inspect, diagnose and purchase the required vehicles
necessary for sales volume objectives. Buyer may also be responsible for liquidation of Company Store repossessed
and trade vehicles.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Safely and efficiently, manage the flow of all vehicles to and from the specific auctions or wholesalers.

Coordinate the preparation, transfer and liquidation of all repo’s and trade’s.

Adhere to the Asset Management parameters of the "Buy-no-Buy List".

Maintain average initial purchase price as set forth by the company.
-
Purchase the require quantity and quality of vehicles set forth by management.

Purchase quality vehicles that result in fair reconditioning costs.
-
Monthly, average less than 7% failure/rejection rate on purchases.

Consistently focus on and communicate market trends.
-
Assist Company Stores with potential rejections.
-
Arrange for and manage strong relationships with transportation companies.
-
Establish and maintain strong relationships with wholesalers.
-
Communicate with several layers of Company Store Management.
-
Have a high sense of urgency and a sense of ownership when completing tasks.
-
At times, working within a Company Store to assist them to help resolve issues.

Spend adequate time to inspect and diagnose auction and wholesalers units prior to purchasing.

Completing a Buyers Check Log when needed and forwarding it on to the right person.
-
Must complete appropriate paperwork and reports on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Comply with company standards on fuel, cell phones, gas cards and personal time.

QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years Work Related Experience
-
Any ASE certifications.

Appropriate experience and knowledge can make up for formal

educational requirements as stated above.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions,

and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one situations to

customers or peers.

Must have a current, valid driver’s license

Must meet all the requirements for insurability by J.D. Byrider’s auto insurance carrier
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS
Buyer directly reports to the appointed Senior Buyer, Director of Service Operations and/or Senior VP of Asset
Management.

CANDIDATES FOR THIS POSITION MUST BE ABLE TO:
