BANK TELLER – BYRON BANK
Byron Bank is looking for a positive, friendly team player who will go above and beyond to provide stellar service to our customers in a Teller role.
The Teller (Full-time, with benefits first of the month after 30 days) receives and pays out money, as well as accurately keeps records of money and negotiable instruments involved in the bank’s various transactions. They will know the ins and outs of the bank's systems and policies while promoting the bank's services with an emphasis on excellent customer service and a positive attitude.
Duties/Responsibilities Include:
- Receive deposits
- Process withdrawals and cash checks
- Issuing Money Orders & Cashier’s Checks
- Running coin machine
- Completing change orders
- Issuing Gift Cards
- Redeeming Savings Bonds
- Processing Loan Payments, Tax Payments, and License Stickers
- Processing Night-drops & Mail
- Completion of currency transaction reporting and currency logs as required
- Buy and sell currency from the vault as necessary, ensuring that teller drawer cash limits are not exceeded
- Balance drawer daily, including periodic batching of cashed checks
- Convert boxed coin to coin trays as needed for the vault
- Physical balancing of the ATM’s when scheduled
- Complete bank regulatory training as required and scheduled
- Attend teller trainings and bank events
- Follow all bank policies and procedures including Byron Bank check cashing rules and check deposit guidelines seeking supervisor approval as needed
- Look for opportunities to make referrals to other departments within the bank by recognizing bank products and services that may benefit the customer
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient cash handling and balancing experience is necessary
- Previous banking experience is highly beneficial
- Ability to work Saturdays (half-days)
- Strong computer and math skills
- Excellent customer service abilities with the ability to cross-sell various bank products
- Ability to travel between branches if scheduled (position is primarily out of Poplar Grove, IL)
- Strong work ethic with a positive, professional, and engaging attitude
Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Cash Handling: 1 year
- Bank Teller: 1 year (preferred)
- Customer Service: 1 year
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
